Testosterone Treatments

What is Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a medical treatment designed to supplement testosterone levels in individuals diagnosed with low testosterone, also known as hypogonadism. This therapy helps to restore hormonal balance by administering testosterone through injections or pellets. TRT is tailored to improve various health aspects impacted by testosterone deficiency.

Who is TRT for?

TRT is for individuals experiencing symptoms associated with low testosterone, which may include:

  • Persistent fatigue and low energy levels
  • Reduced libido and sexual dysfunction
  • Mood swings, irritability, or depression
  • Loss of muscle mass and strength
  • Increased body fat
  • Decreased bone density
  • Cognitive difficulties, such as trouble concentrating

A healthcare professional must diagnose hypogonadism, and TRT is recommended for those with confirmed low testosterone levels through blood tests.

Types of TRT Treatments

Testosterone Injections

  • Frequency: Administered weekly.
  • Method: Self-injection at home after thorough training by medical staff.
  • Flexibility: Allows for easy dosage adjustments.

Testosterone Pellets

  • Frequency: Inserted subcutaneously and lasts approximately 3 months.
  • Method: Provides a steady release of testosterone.
  • Convenience: Requires fewer medical visits compared to injections.

How Do I Start Testosterone Treatments?

Step 1

Initial Inquiry

Contact InnerWorks: Performance & Wellness to inquire about Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). You can reach out via phone, email, or visit our website to request more information.

Step 2

Complete Medical Questionnaire

Fill out the comprehensive testosterone medical questionnaire provided by InnerWorks. This form collects your medical history, symptoms, and other relevant health information. Additionally, sign the necessary consent forms to proceed.

Step 3

Initial Evaluation

If our managing physician considers you a potential candidate for TRT, we will schedule an appointment for a thorough blood panel draw at InnerWorks. This evaluation includes a detailed consultation to discuss your symptoms and health goals.

Step 4

Blood Panel Testing

During your appointment, a blood sample will be collected and sent to a specialized lab for comprehensive analysis. This process ensures accurate measurement of your testosterone levels and other relevant health markers. Results typically return within 10-14 days.

Step 5

Review of Results

The managing physician at InnerWorks will review your blood test results. Based on these results and your health goals, the physician will determine if TRT is the appropriate treatment for you. This step involves a detailed discussion of potential benefits, risks, and expected outcomes.

Step 6

Prescription and Administration

If TRT is deemed suitable, you will schedule an appointment at InnerWorks for the next steps. Choose between:

  • Testosterone Pellets: Administered on-site by our medical professionals, lasting approximately 3 months.
  • Testosterone Injections: Receive training from our medical staff on how to self-administer injections at home.

Detailed instructions and support will be provided to ensure proper technique and safety.

Step 7

Follow-Up and Monitoring

To monitor the effectiveness of your TRT, a follow-up blood panel will be conducted 6 months after starting the treatment. This ensures the therapy is working as intended and allows for any necessary adjustments. Regular follow-ups will help maintain optimal health and achieve desired outcomes.
